my name is amy elizabeth hunter. ​

 

my work over the past thirty years has focused in the areas of trauma, racial + gender justice, community building, organizational leadership development, mental health counseling and spiritual/energy healing. ​i hold an MA in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and a doctorate in Ecological Counseling. i am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Ohio, certified in Reiki, with lots of experience in community-based practices.

 

i draw inspiration and guidance from the contemplative and mystical Christian wisdom tradition and the Celtic, Shambhala, Cherokee, and Dagara lineages i carry. the natural world has been my most enduring classroom and my most important training has been life and my own healing journey.  there is deep gratitude to the ancestors and the elders and shamans and teachers who have guided and supported me along the way.

the most important role i play this lifetime is mama. i'm a mama to three amazing humans, two pups, a cat, and a tortoise. we live in Kentucky by the Ohio River in a house on Madonna with a cypress, gingko, oak, lilac and roses and many winged and wild ones.
